Sir,

I have the honour to acquaint you for the information

of the Postmaster General, that my Government has after con-

sideration of the matter authorized the adoption of the ld.

rate of postage on letters at all the British Postal Agencies

in China, noted in the margin, as from the 15th instant,

in the same manner as it obtains now between Hongkong, the

United Kingdom, British Colonies and Possessions.

I have informed the several British Colonies in the

East, the Dominion of Canada and the Indian Postal Administra

tion of the above and trust that the Postmaster General

will be pleased to approve of my so doing and will acquaint
